the atomic bomb and hiroshima, japan

Maybe i took my time blogging about Hiroshima also because the city is mainly associated with the events of World War II... and because i had more trouble dealing with it than i'd thought. The reality of those events surrounding all the memorials basically hit me with a force i hadn't anticipated and i ended up crying and being a little helpless with this outburst of feelings. As i reacted so emotional to the location we decided against visiting any of the museums as they were described as very moving in our guides... i hope you know about Hiroshima's history and if not you could have a look here >>>.

  2. In America, the main line taught is that it was "necessary" for both Hiroshima and Nagasaki but while there is truth to what's taught it comes with a lot darkness and guilt. Japan would have saved countless citizens if right-wing nationalism didn't take over their government. Same thing with almost of the Axis Powers of World War II.

Some Americans have pride in the events, I do not. Necessary evils are still evils. Even worse when you factor in that most of these people in the cities were innocent civilians not soldiers.
