paradise reloaded? creation in the anthropocene

Da eine Freundin von mir im Jungen Ensemble Berlin (JEB) singt, fand ich mich ihrer Einladung folgend in einem Hörsaal der UdK (Universität der Künste) wieder, um eine Dokumentation anzuschauen... zusammen mit dem IASS (Institut für Nachhaltigkeitsforschung) Potsdam haben JEB und UdK ein interessantes Projekt zu Natur und Kultur rund um Haydns "Die Schöpfung" geschaffen.

Das IASS möchte durch einen transdisziplinären Austausch Wissen demokratisieren und damit den Wandel hin zu einer nachhaltigeren Gesellschaft fördern. In diesem Projekt beschäftigten sich Schüler, Studenten, Sänger, Wissenschaftler (sogar Konzertbesucher) fachübergreifend mit der Entwicklung und Wandlung des Verhältnisses von Mensch und Natur (innerhalb des Anthropozän). Seit der industriellen Revolution, die meist als Beginn des Anthroprozäns angesetzt wird, sind viele Veränderungen der Natur auf massive Eingriffe durch Menschen zurückzuführen. Der Umgang mit Natur und die Bedeutung des Anthropozän sollen innerhalb dieses Kommunikationsprojektes nicht nur aus einer naturwissenschaftlichen Perspektive betrachtet werden, sondern auch einen gesellschaftlichen Dialog unter Einbezug von Fragen nach einem Kulturzusammenhang öffnen. As a dear friend of mine is a member of Junges Ensemble Berlin (JEB) i followed her invitation to an auditorium of UdK (University of the Arts Berlin) to watch a documentary... the IASS (Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies) Potsdam, the JEB and UdK had worked together on an interesting project bringing together arts and science with Jospeh Haydn's "Creation" at its centre.

The IASS wants to facilitate the accessibility of knowledge through transdisciplinary exchange and in this encourage society's change towards sustainability. During the project pupils, students, scientists, singers (and even concert-goers) were dealing with the development and changes of the nature-human-relation (during Anthropocene) from different perspectives.

Since the industrial revolution - commonly considered the beginning of the Anthopocene - humans have increased their impact on changes in nature massively. During this communication project the focus lies on our dealings with nature and the significance of the Anthropocene not only from a scientific point of view but also in opening society's dialogue to questions of the cultural context.
