a night stroll through minami (osaka, japan)

Abends durch eine japanische Stadt zu laufen, ist schon allein wegen der vielen Lichter spannend. In Osaka blinkt's sehr schick in Minami und in dieser Gegend dann noch mal besonders um Namba oder Dōtonbori (auch: Dōtombori). Auf der Ebisu-bashi (Brücke) fühlte ich mich kurz wie im Film - das hatte ich doch gerade noch in einer Doku gesehen! In den Gassen und Straßen rund herum kann man sich schön verlieren. (Shinsaibashi ist übrigens auch sehr nett zum Shoppen - und überdacht!) Obwohl auch unter der Woche viele Menschen unterwegs sind und man öfter mal jemandem ausweichen muss, geht es doch ausgelassen und friedlich zu... und dann stößt man dort plötzlich auch auf ruhige Orte wie Hōzen-ji (Tempel).

An evening (or night) stroll through any Japanse city is interesting just because of all the lights you'll see. In Osaka the Minami area is especially nicely lit and i there i really liked the area around Namba or Dōtonbori (aka Dōtombori). On Ebisu-bashi (bridge) i felt like i was in a movie for a moment - i had just watched a documentary about it and now i was there! You can get lost enjoyably in the streets surrounding it. (Shinsaibashi is a nice place for some shopping as well - and it has a roof, perfect for a rainy day) Although there are a lot of people on the streets even during the week and you have to dodge through the crowds, it all still feels save and frisky... and then you suddenly end up finding real calm places like Hōzen-ji (temple).
