EYE - amsterdam film institute

Nach fünf Minuten (gratis!) Fährüberfahrt gelangt man vom Amsterdamer Hauptbahnhof sehr schnell zur Insel, auf der das Filminstitut EYE zu Hause ist. Wir hatten noch ein bisschen Zeit vor unserer Zugabfahrt und da nun alle Dämme brachen, sodass wir fast nass bis auf die Haut waren, dachten wir eine kurze Aufwärmphase könnte nicht schaden. 

Ich hatte das lustige architektonisch interessante Gebäude irgendwie für einen sonnigen Tag mit einem netten Getränk auf der Terrasse verbunden... dass es aber auch eine gratis Ausstellung gibt (für alles andere hätte auch die Zeit nicht gereicht), war mir irgendwie entfallen. Gut, dass wir noch schnell dort waren! Ich fand es sehr nett aufgemacht und Museumsshops haben auch eine magische Anziehungskraft auf mich (dann auch noch mit dem Thema Film! voll toll!). Falls ihr mal in Amsterdam seit - schaut mal vorbei... und sei's auch nur für die Überfahrt mit der Fähre. 

The (free) ferry takes you in only about five minutes from Amsterdam central station to the island that is the home of the film insitute EYE. We had a little time to kill before our train departed and didn't want to spend it soaking wet in a cold station - so we thought a little warming up could be a nice idea.

In my head the funny architecturally interesting building was somehow booked for a sunny day on its terrace... that there's also a free exhibition to see (we wouldn't have had time for actually watching a movie or checking the other exhibitions) had completely slipped my mind! I am happy we found our way there after all because it was nicely done... and museum's shops seem to magically pull me in anyway (film themed! awesome!). Should you be in Amsterdam - have a look... even if it's just for the ferry ride.
