grande fête populär

Am letzten Wochenende stolperten wir eher zufällig über dieses "deutsch-französische Bürgerfest", das einen Punkt im Festprogramm zu 50 Jahren Deutsch-Französischem Jugendwerk (OFAJ) bildet. Irgendwann hatte ich ja schon erwähnt, dass ich es als schönen Zufall empfinde, dass wir im Jahr der deutsch-französischen Freundschaft geheiratet haben. (die 50 Jahre Elysée-Vertrag gab's schon im Januar)

Leider waren wir ein wenig spät dran, da uns hauptsächlich die kostenlosen Konzerte angelockt hatten. Trotzdem staubte Arnaud noch einen schicken Berlin-Beutel (mit Buch, Pin, Schlüsselband, Karten etc.) ab, der mir wie ein sehr passendes Willkommensgeschenk für uns vorkam. Die Stimmung war großartig und auch wenn nicht alle Bands meinem Geschmack entsprachen, hatten wir bei bestem Wetter auf dem neu gestalteten Place de la Republique (ich kannte den vorher nur als Baustelle) eine wirklich schöne Zeit... und wir waren live bei meinem Lieblingssender arte!

Last weekend we happened to stumble upon this French-German festival that represented one of the many events that celebrate 50 years of the French-German friendship, here especially  the youth organisation (OFAJ/DFJW). I already mentioned some time ago that it feels like a really nice coincidence that we got married during this French-German anniversary year. (i already had mentioned the 50 years of the Elysée contract celebrated in January)

Unfortunately we were a bit late as we mostly came for the free concerts. Arnaud still got lucky and was able to grab a nice Berlin bag (filled with a book, pin, lanyard, post cards etc.) - felt like a welcome gift for us. The weather was great and so was the atmosphere. Not all the bands were to my taste but we had a really nice time on the new place de la Republique (i only know it as a building site)... and we were live on my favorite channel arte!
