I really don't know how i did this. Although august was my "vacation month", meaning that i also spend a lot of time in trains, i didn't really find the time to read. I want to blame this on the (for me) numerous human interactions. I had the pleasure of hosting guests in Berlin twice, i was celebrating two big family birthdays and my own, i met some of my dearest friends and also have been browsing some magazines (yeah, Flow!) instead of immersing myself in books. That's why i ended up reading "only" four but i still think that's not too bad...
I started with John Katzenbach's "The Analyst" and totally forgot to take a picture. Too late now as i only borrowed it. I had trouble warming up to the novel but can't really tell you why. My slow start set the pace for this book and  although i was well entertained it doesn't leave me more excited than some Sunday evening crime show. Robert Galbraith's "The Cuckoo's Calling" was better already. Just as with "The Casual Vacancy" i was very well entertained and already could imagine the movie. Thanks to germangreeneyedmonster  for the hint! I am already looking forward to the next one. Afterwards i had fun with Horst Ever's "Mein Leben als Suchmaschine" (engl. "My Life as a Search Engine"). As far as i know it has not been published in English but if you want to learn more about Berlin life you might have to learn German for this one. August was finished off by John Irving's "A Son of the Circus". I have no idea why it took me so long to read it. Maybe because the story develops in no hurry with the typical flashbacks. No Indian rushing there. The novel is nice but a little weak towards the end. My PUB (pile of unread books) is rather high for a change but i am looking forward to receiving more of your recommendations!
