Mit MissW kann man (zumindest online) schön Urlaub machen und nun hat sie mit ihrem neuesten Blogstöckchen eingeladen mitzureisen. // I love going on (virtual) journeys with MissW and now she has invited us to travel with her latest "Blogstöckchen".

Was sind Deine Pläne für die großen Ferien? // What are your plans for the "big holidays"?

Große Ferien habe ich eher selten. Diesen Sommer steht aber wohl die Hochzeitsreise an... mal sehen, wohin's geht. // I do not really have any "big holidays". This summer i think we will have some kind of honey moon... we'll see where to.

Welche Reise würdest Du machen, wenn weder Zeit noch Geld eine Rolle spielte? // What journey would you go on if neither time nor money mattered?

Ganz einfach! Eine Weltreise, die durchaus ein ganzes Jahre dauern darf. // Easy! A trip around the world that could last one year.

Welches ist Deine Lieblingsstadt? Planst Du, dieses Jahr dort hinzureisen? // What is your favorite city? Are you planning on going there this year?

Ich habe nicht wirklich eine Lieblingsstadt. London würde aber wohl immer auf einer Bestenliste stehen. Bisher habe ich noch keinen Plan, dorthin zu fahren... es gibt immer noch so viele Städte, die ich noch nie gesehen habe! // I do not really have a favorite city but London would make the list surely. I have no plan to visit this city yet... there are still so many i have not seen yet!

Fährst Du dieses Jahr in den Winterurlaub? // Are you going on a winter vacation this year?

Ich glaube, bei meinem letzten Winterurlaub war mein Alter noch einstellig. Das ist nicht so mein Ding - auch dieses Jahr nicht. // I think my age had only one digit when i last went on winter vacation. It is not really my thing - and won't be this year.

Was gefällt Dir besser? Aktivurlaub oder entspanntes Abhängen am Strand? // What do you like better? Active holidays or relaxing on the beach?

Ich bin immer für eine Mischung. Am liebsten mache ich Städtetrips oder Ausflüge. Wenn eine Stadt in Strandnähe ist und das Wetter passt, kann man auch einen Tag am Meer verbringen... Wasser ist sowieso toll, aber nur faul rumliegen relaxen muss nicht sein. // I prefer a mix. I like to make trips to cities or short tours. If a city is close to the sea/ocean and the weather is nice - why not hang out at the beach? Water is wonderful, but i need more than lying around lazily relaxing.

Hättest Du Lust, eine Kreuzfahrt zu machen? // Do you feel like going on a cruise?

Sehr sogar! Es gibt so interessante Routen, bei denen man jeden (zweiten) Tag eine neue Stadt besichtigt und das lange Reisen mit einem Schiff stelle ich mir recht angenehm vor. Falls ich das mal mache, berichte ich und rate davon ab, nach mir das gleiche Schiff zu nehmen - Familienfluch. // A lot actually! There are so many interesting routes that show you a new city every (second) day and i imagine that long trips by ship are rather pleasant. If i ever do it, i will tell you all about it and advice you to not take the same ship afterwards - family curse.

Besuchst Du dieses Jahr Freunde, die etwas weiter weg wohnen? // Are you going to visit friends this year who live far away?

Gerade bin ich ja diejenige, die weiter weg wohnt und deshalb habe ich öfter Besuch. // Right now i am the one living far away and that's why friends are more likely to visit me. 

Ist ein Familientreffen außerhalb Deiner Stadt geplant? // Do you plan a family reunion outside of your city?

Zumindest ein kleines... zur Hochzeit. // At least a small one... for the wedding.

Was war die schönste Reise/Urlaub, den Du je gemacht hast? // What was the most wonderful trip (vacation etc.) you ever took?

Schwere Frage! Ich reise sehr gern mit Arnaud, weil wir einen ähnlichen Rhythmus haben. Das größte Abenteuer, das mir spontan einfällt, war ein Roadtrip mit meiner Familie Anfang der 90er Jahre. Mit Stopps in Polen, Litauen und Lettland ging es nach Estland, wo wir eine ganze Weile bei Talinn blieben. Zurück ging es dann mit der Estonia (ein Jahr vor der Katastrophe - hab's ja gesagt, Familienfluch!) nach Schweden und über Dänemark zurück nach Deutschland. Herrlich spannend! // Difficult question! I love traveling with Arnaud as we have a very similar rhythm. The biggest adventure that comes to mind is a roadtrip with my family in the early 90ies. With stops in Poland, Lithuania and Latvia we traveled to Estonia where we stayed for a while near Talinn. On the way back we took the cruise ferry Estonia (one year before the catastrophe - told you, family curse!) to Sweden and via Denmark we went back to Germany. Wonderfully exciting!

Mit welchem Verkehrsmittel reist Du am liebsten? / What means of transport do you prefer?

Auch wenn es nicht immer stressfrei ist (aber welches Verkehrsmittel ist das?), mag ich am liebsten den Zug. Ich finde es entspannter, wenn jemand anders fährt, wenn ich jederzeit meine Hände waschen oder ins essen gehen kann ohne anzuhalten. Ansonsten bin ich auch ein guter Beifahrer für spontane Trips mit dem Auto. Der Weg ist das Ziel. // I know it's not always without stress (but what is?) i prefer the train. I think it is more relaxing when somebody else is "driving" and when i can wash my hands or eat somewhere without having to stop. I guess i am also a good co-pilot on spontaneous road trips. The journey is its own reward.

Welche Tagesausflüge in Deiner Region sind geplant? // Which day trips are planned in your region?

Sobald es wärmer wird, möchte ich die "Zonenbefreiung" (mit einer Monatskarte via Navigo kann man an Wochenende unbegrenzt weit im ratp-Raum fahren, auch wenn man sonst z.B. nur Zone 1+2 hat.) besser ausnutzen und die Umgebung von Paris besser erkunden. Bis dahin hat die Stadt noch genug zu bieten. // As soon as it gets warmer i want to make use of the "de-zoning" (owning a loaded Navigo you can travel all through the ratp-zones - even if you usually are only using e.g. zone 1+2) and see more of Paris' surroundings. Until then the city still has enough to offer.

Planst Du Deine Reisen im Detail voraus, oder lässt Du Dich treiben? // Are you planning your trips in detail or are you letting yourself be carried along?

Ich plane nicht sehr langfristig. Eine Hochzeitsreise steht bspw. auch noch nicht fest. Für die Reise selbst muss ich aber wissen, wie ich hinkomme und wo ich schlafe. Zu spontan bin ich da nicht (mehr). Vor Ort lasse ich mich dann aber gern treiben. // I do not really make long-term plans. There is no honeymoon planned e.g. For the trip itself i need to know how i get there and where i will sleep. I am not that spontaneous (anymore) when it comes to this. Once there i allow myself to drift.

Was darf in Deinem Koffer nie fehlen? // What must never be missed in your suitcase?

Was ich immer mitnehme, sind ein Buch, etwas zum Schreiben, Kopfhörer+Musik/Hörbücher, ausreichend Wasser, Desinfektionsmittel, Kamera, Kabeltasche und natürlich Reiseunterlagen. Bequeme Schuhe dürfen auch nicht fehlen. Ich übe mich aber immer noch im Finden der perfekten Garderoben-Minimierung. // What i always take with me are a good book, something to write, headset+music/audiobooks, enough water, desinfectant, camera, cable bag and all the papers needed of course. Comfortable shoes should never be missed as well. I still try to find the perfect minimum of clothes to take.
